Description:
The views on this hike blew my mind the first time I did it, and I’ve been itching to have it reblown for quite the while. It’s also projected to be sunny :o . I fear these may be the last trickles of sunshine here on the West Coast. Let’s get out there and enjoy it while we can!
Planning to cruise up the climb then clamber down (if you are prone to it, your knees will be achy breaky). This trip is labelled as difficult on most forums. In my opinion, this has a lot less to do with the difficulty of the terrain (fairly easy technique wise) and more to do with the fitness required to complete the 30 km, 1520 m journey. You should have prior hiking experience - know how to pack for a long day on the trail, what to wear, etc. If you are unsure as to whether or not this trip is for you, shoot me a message and we can chat.
Sign up for the trip will primarily be on a first-come, first-serve basis, but experience will be taken into account for the wellbeing of all.
Disclaimer: Completing this particular hike is contingent on us securing reservations, the registration for which opens Friday October 1st at 7am. My friend and I will try to book these Friday morning. We will try to find a similar hike to do as an alternative if this doesn't work out (tbd... but I'm considering the Mount Gardner and Killarney Lake Loop on Bowen Island... thoughts?).
Edit: weather changes... looks like it'll be rainy. Still, great to get out there.
