Update 7th of May:

We are full, thank you all for your interest.

Update 13 of April:

Looking for up drivers to hike the West Coast Trail (up to 2 spots available).

Hey VOC-ers!

We are hiking the West Coast Trail Trip from the 12 to the 19th of May. We are two subgroups hiking opposite ways that will be swapping vehicles at the trailheads. We already have a minivan for the South-to-North subgroup (7 VOC-ers) and are looking for 1 to 2 people/drivers to join our subgroup going North-to-South (2 spots available).

We are looking for 1 to 2 experienced hikers that have access to a 7-seater minivan (or two 4-seater cars) that are willing to drive their vehicle(s) to Bamfield and then let other experience driver(s) bring it back to Vancouver.

Please reach out to us ASAP if interested.

Cheers,

Remzi, Julia and Hannah

Original Post:

Hey y’all,

We are a group of VOCers that booked spots to hike the West Coast Trail from the 12th to the 18th of May, and are open to having up to 7 more people on the trip (we have two spots and here are 5+ still available on the Parks Can website).

Please consider that this is a beautiful but challenging hike (around 80km / 1.9k elevation gain) and we may likely experience mud and rain. This is not a beginner-friendly trip and joining it will not be on a first-come-first-served basis. We will be doing South to North and are looking for outdoorsy people with appropriate experience and gear, we would also need additional drivers if the group is bigger. The booking cost for the hike and water Taxis is 210 CAD (would have to be paid ASAP). Additionally, you would still need to consider the car ferries to the island, gas money, fancy light-weight food, etc. We have two vehicles and a couple of extra car spots.

The idea is not to rush the hike and take our time to enjoy the beaches. The plan is to start hiking on May 12 (leaving Vancouver on the 11th) and -weather dependant- finish on May 18 (rain) or 19 (nice weather). You can find more details about this "hike of a lifetime" on the following link:

Cheers,
