Description:

UPDATE: Changed the pre-trip to 9pm 

 

This trip is designed for anyone who is interested in trail running, regardless of their outdoor experience or fitness level.

 

It also poses as intro to hiking because we will not be running the entire time! The main objective is to spend time outside and to get comfortable with shorter bursts of running on uneven terrain.

 

Where: Meeting at 10am at the End of the Line General store (transit accessible) to run in Lynn Valley Headwaters.

 

What: 6-8km with 200-350m of elevation gain (we will decide what we want to do as a group). We will be walking the uphills, running the flats and downhills. Stopping at various points to let everyone re-group. PLUS a post-run swim if there's interest.

 

 

Gear****:

- Running shoes of any kind (road runners will be perfectly fine)

- Water

- Snacks for after

- A towel/change of clothes for swimming (up to you - I will probably just swim in what I run in)

- A backpack or running vest if you have one

 

****We will be using the frontcountry trails (close to access roads/amenities) and will be sticking together as a group, so you don't need to bring a lot of gear with you. However, if there is interest, at the pre-trip I can discuss how I prepare for a longer day in the outdoors, that is specific to summer and shoulder-season trail running.

Cost:

- Share of the gas if you're in a car group
