Description:

Update [June 14 2022]: Weekend weather looks rainy, will postpone trip for some time later this/next month

Hello,

Repeated VOC trip-goer but never organizer, so decided I wanted to give it a shot! I went to Son of Rock back in May and did Rock 2, but I haven't really been able to go out and practice those skills since, so I'd like to have some fun climbing in Squamish and do some practice at the same time. I'm very much a beginner at climbing + organizing trips so I'd greatly appreciate it if someone more knowledgeable would be keen to help out (I don't really know the routes in Squamish and woud like someone to double check my anchor building) - I'll buy you Great Dane pastries / Blue Chip cookies / other!  :)

Who: This trip is mainly geared towards the more beginner climbers of VOC who already know how to belay and have climbed at least a few times before (Rock 1/2). Since this is my first time leading I'd like to limit the participant size to be <10

What/Where: Climb easy routes in Squamish

When: Saturday June 18th 2022 (but may change dependent on weather)

  • May take a good half of the day or less/more dependent on participant interest / driver availability

Gear

  • Climbing: helmet, belay device, locking carabiner, climbing shoes, climbing harness (some things can be rented out)
  • Other: food, water, additional layers, good vibes

Pre-trip: Will be on Google Meet, Wednesday June 15th 2022 8:00PM PST, will email a link to committed / interested list beforehand

Feel free to send me an email if you have any questions or if you'd like to help out!!
