Description:

I have volcano fever, so let's go ski Mount St. Helens! The plan is to drive down on Saturday and car camp somewhere near the trailhead. Then, on Sunday we’ll ski up (and down) the Worm Flows route in what will hopefully be amazing spring snow. We’ll drive back the same day to be back in Vancouver before Monday. Note that this is a really hefty trip in terms of driving (550 km) and in terms of elevation gain (16 km, 1800 m).

Requirements:

  • AST-1 or similar
  • Be a strong skier (at least black runs well)
  • Be in good shape (have done big elevation days)
  • Have ski crampons
  • Have big stoke for volcanoes

Because of these requirements, I won’t necessarily be going by the committed list.
