Description:

Hello fellow VOCers!

I am pretty stoked that exams will be done, so I would like to try to rescue a missing ski?!

This trip is very up In the air due to exams/weather and accessibility (subject to date change)

For a bit of background, Lucas wrote up a wonderful report on the Needle trip, https://www.ubc-voc.com/2023/04/11/thread-the-needle-a-steps-to-the-neve-debacle.

The idea of the trip would be to arrive at the Zopkios rest area around 8-9 am and either hike/skin up to the east col before the fork towards Needle/flatiron. We would then begin our search while avoiding the steeper sections and working our way down safely. If conditions are terrible, ice axes and possibly crampons will be recommended. This is not the most beginner-friendly trip and will likely be a different style of trip, but at the same time, I leave the discretion up to yall.  In the event of finding the ski and having some time, we could ski a lap, hike to Flatiron or descend. If you are curious about where the approximate ski location is here ya go.
