Description:

If you've got a rope skill that you'd like to practice, learn, or teach, then come join me as we hang from trees and collect strange looks from passerby!

I'm planning to focus on rock rescue techniques like escaping the belay and tandem rappels, but some other possible ideas are:

  • Rapelling (Italian hitch? Carabiner brake?)
  • Ascending a rope
  • Lowering from a guide-mode belay device
  • Crevasse rescue and hauling systems
  • Anything else you think could be handy to know!

All skill levels are welcome, from fresh flatlander to big-wall bro. I'll bring two ropes and a variety of cordage and hardware, you should bring a harness and any relevant bits of your own gear.

We'll meet at the closest suitable-looking tree to the barbecue: https://goo.gl/maps/BrsJqS2Yh5GKVanK7
