Description:

The semi-alcoholic traverse is a moderate alpine traverse starting at Brandywine, and ending at either Cypress or Tricouni, I’d like to do the route finishing at Tricouni. The route starts with a scramble up Brandywine Mountain, followed by a traverse along the nearby ridge down south skirting to the side of Mount Fee going all the way down to Cypress Peak. Then, after coming down from the peak of Cypress, linking up with the hiking trail up to Tricouni before ending at the Tricouni trailhead. For more info on the route: https://fatmap.com/discover/route/canada/british-columbia/trail-running/semi-alcoholic-traverse/3012071

The route will likely require some easy snow travel, and there will likely be some relatively exposed sections (although the worst of which is likely avoidable). I’d like to do this in two nights, camping somewhere inbetween Brandywine and Cypress on the first night, and by the lakes southwest of Tricouni on the second night. Another reason why I’d like to take my time out there is this trip requires a bit of a heinous car shuttle from the Tricouni trailhead to the Brandywine trailhead that will eat up quite a lot of time on Sunday and Tuesday (and require that we can find at least 2 cars for this trip).

In order to come on this trip you should be comfortable with scrambling and exposure and should have experience with relatively long days in an overnight pack. If you have any questions though, please send me a quick email!

This trip will probably be canceled/rescheduled if the weather is not good (too much rain/smoke), and it will certainly be canceled if we can’t find two cars. Also FYI this Tuesday is Imagine day so there will be no classes.
