Start: Saturday, Nov. 18th, 6:00 am
End: Saturday, Nov. 18th, 8:00 pm
Pre-trip meeting location: TBD

Description:

Time to get this season's ski legs under you! The goal of this trip is to find some chill, early-season laps to get the season started (before Whistler opening weekend, to hopefully get a day of skiing in before the Whistler traffic makes the Sea to Sky nigh-on-impassable).

I'd like to finalize our destination at the pre-trip meeting so we can find a place that matches everyone's skill level and willingness to drive. Although, we'll probably end up going somewhere near Squamish/Whistler.

Despite planning on a relatively 'easy' day, this trip is not meant for beginners, but rather as a warm-up for people who already have some experience in the backcountry. Because of this, I'll be requiring that participants have at least 5 days of touring in addition to an avalanche safety course equivalent to AST. If you are a beginner, there will be tons of other trips this winter to give backcountry skiing a go!

Also, here's an obligatory disclaimer that this trip is weather-dependent, and it will be canceled if there's not enough snow to ski!
