Hello! I'll be giving my NMAG presentation in the VOC clubroom from 7-8pm on Monday Nov 6. I'll share plenty of photos, some reflections, and try to impart some Scottish sayings into my story. Afterwards, I was thinking of going to the Gallery's happy hour until about 9pm where then I should sleep before flying to visit my folks in Minnesota the following day...
For those that don't know, the VOC and the Neil Mackenzie trust sponsor the Neil Mackenzie Adventure Grant. I am one of two trips to happen this year - the other is Anton, Ketan, and Ben's trip to Kazakhstan. Neil along with other VOCers Steph and Elena passed away in a tragic accident on Joffree Peak in January of 2015. Neil was from Scotland and brought a lot of energy into the VOC. I joined the VOC in 2020 right as COVID struck, but what I've heard of Neil was his incredible character, leadership, and fun he brought to the VOC.
There's also a chance that I'll be moving away from Vancouver in the next few months, so if you want to say hi/goodbye/till next time, please come by/reach out.
