Description:
Do you like hiking? Do you want to stay in the VOC's biggest hut overnight? Do you have any interest in photography whether it be with a phone or an "actual" camera? Then this is the trip for you!
If you've hiked before but have never stayed in a hut then worry not, Phelix has a wood stove and with enough people it gets quite toasty overnight. If you're keen on coming on this trip but unsure feel free to email me and/or Matthew with any questions.
Last year a pair of German exchange students organized a trip up to Phelix to do some astrophotography and it was a really fun time and I want to go back up there and try it again with some new camera accessories that I will be getting. They also had made a delicious apple tea so I will look into bringing the same recipe and other Germanic treats as well up to the hut.
The extent of photography on this trip is that we will be taking any interesting photos on the hike up and at the hut at nighttime.
The main objective of this trip will still be to hike up to Phelix and stay there for the night so no photography experience is required. Last year people took some really good photos of the stars with just their phone cameras!

The pre-trip is tentatively on Zoom on Nov 16 Thursday 7 PM. It might change to an earlier day.
Saturday
- leave early in the morning to get to the trailhead and start hiking up to Phelix.
- get to the hut in the evening and warm up, eat some food, set up sleeping bags, and then start taking photos.
Sunday
- eat breakfast, descend back to the cars and head back home!
