LEARN TO SKI IN RESORT FOR A HUGE DISCOUNT AT MT. SEYMOUR

Mt. Seymour is offering members of the VOC an opportunity for beginners to learn how to ski for the first time with a deal on rentals, passes, and lessons for $144.06 CAD all in, or if you want to bring your own gear, you can pay for the lesson and pass for only $99.27 CAD. The days this is happening are Sunday, January 21st, 2024, and Sunday, February 25th, 2024. The two-hour lesson will be from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those who want to try skiing for the first time with their friends! This trip is limited to 24 people only so sign up soon if you can (this trip agenda posting will be updated once the trip is full). Must be a VOC member to qualify for the deal.

Here is a bit more about Mt. Seymour: https://mtseymour.ca/

If you do not have ski gear you cannot use the VOC club gear for this trip, you either need to rent from Seymour or get it from somewhere else.

Currently, the trip is tentative until we get at least 24 people to sign up for it. Once 24 people have signed up, the trip will be confirmed, and people will be notified. Anyone who signs up and pays for the trip and the trip doesn’t run will be reimbursed the full amount they paid.

 Something to be mindful of:

You need to show up at Mt. Seymour at 3:30 p.m. the day of your event for your rental before going to your lesson.

Make sure to wear proper ski or winter clothing.

  • Ski goggles: protect the eyes from wind, snow, and UV rays. Provides better visibility in various light conditions.
  • Ski Jacket: Waterproof and insulated to keep you warm and dry in snowy conditions.
  • Ski Pants: Waterproof and breathable to protect against snow and moisture. Base Layers: Thermal or moisture-wicking undergarments to regulate body temperature.
  • Mid-Layers: Insulating layers like fleece or down jackets to provide warmth.
  • Ski Gloves or Mittens: Insulated and waterproof to keep hands warm and dry.
  • Ski Socks: Moisture-wicking and warm socks to keep feet dry and comfortable.
  • Neck Gaiter or Balaclava: Protects the neck and face from cold winds.
  • Hat or Beanie: Keeps the head warm when not wearing the helmet.

Lessons will be in groups of 8.

You’re responsible for getting to Mt. Seymour, but likely the VOC will have lots of people driving who you can catch a ride with.

If you have any questions you can reach out to the organizer.
