Description:

Hello everyone! It's that time of year when the VOC selects the Neil Mackenzie Adventure Grant recipient. For those who aren't familiar, Neil was a VOC member who tragically lost his life in the mountains along with Stephanie Grothe and Elena Cernicka in 2015. The VOC and the Neil Mackenzie Trust have established the Adventure Grant to honour their memories. The purpose of the grant is to help support self-propelled trips that Neil would have been really psyched about and that people may otherwise be unable to go on. Now that we're approaching the end of January and the beginning of February, applications for the grant should all be coming in, and it's time to select the one that best fulfills this spirit.

We're looking for 5-6 VOC members with a diverse range of experience and backgrounds to help select the recipient. Ideally, you shouldn’t be on exec, but you should have a good idea of the spirit of the club, grant, and the type of self-propelled adventures we’re looking to support. We’d meet on Thursday the 8th in the clubroom and go through the applications to select the one that best hits our criteria. Also, you shouldn't have applied for the NMAG this year if you want to help select NMAG recipients.

If you’re interested in this, please sign up, and feel free to email me if you have any questions!
