Some of you may have seen the posters lying around in the clubroom, but Chic Scott is coming to Vancouver! If anyone wants to join me, I may bike down to VanDusen from school on Monday to catch it.

Our presenter this month Chic Scott needs little introduction.
Ski mountaineer, climber, historian, the renowned Chic Scott from Banff, will be presenting on Monday, March 18th, at the Floral Hall, VanDusen Gardens.
(PLEASE NOTE MEETING DATE FOR THIS MONTH’S SOCIAL IS DIFFERENT THAN OUR USUAL MONTHLY SOCIAL DATE)
Chic Scott has spent a lifetime climbing and skiing mountains, Scott’s accomplishments include several first ascents, remarkable traverses, including the first winter ascent of Mount Assiniboine and the Great Divide ski traverse in 1967. Besides writing guidebooks for ski mountaineering in Canada, he has also been recognized for his literary contribution to mountain culture, in the form of videos, books and presentations.
In 2020 Chic published the story of Mount Assiniboine and is currently working on a book detailing the history of the Alpine Club of Canada.
During this evening, Chic will present his show on several Grand Traverses of the Rocky and Columbia Mountains, see amazing images and historical film footage.
After the presentation, there will be time for questions.
