Description:
Hello VOCers!
Flavia and I (Eden) have been dreaming about a weekend getaway to Sloquet Hot Spring since meeting at Burns and Turns a few weeks ago! We are envisioning a very relaxed trip comprised mostly of eating, doing art, and soaking in the hot springs. If the opportunity arises we’d love to explore the area but don’t plan on doing any big hikes 🙂
We plan to leave early Saturday morning at around 7 AM, drive over the North Route via Whistler/Pemberton, and arrive around noon. This leaves us enough time to set up our tents, explore the area, and soak in the hot springs. We'll spend the night at the campsite before we head back on the same route on Sunday. Hopefully, we’ll get some samosas in Squamish and catch a beautiful sunset on the Sea-to-Sky Highway on the way back.
Cost breakdown:
- Fuel: ~25$
- Camping permit: 5$ (~$20/campsite)
- Food: Individual
Depending on if/how many car spots (If anyone has a 4WD that would be greatly appreciated;)) we can get together, we may open up the trip to more people.
Equipment List:
- Check out the VOC Gear Wiki page for a more comprehensive list (see ‘Winter Overnight’)
- Recommended for this trip:
- Bathing suit
- Towel
- Sandals
- Art supplies
- Hiking boots
- Anything your heart desires (the benefits of car camping <3)
