Phelix is running low on wood (again), so let's fix that. I've ordered 1 cord of the finest firewood delivered to the Phelix trailhead. Some say 1 cord is a lot and we would be crazy to do this without a helicopter. I say if you have enough VOCers, you don't need helicopters!
In the summer, the trail up to Phelix is only 4km, 500 m. So this is the prime time to go up. The plan is to rock up bright and early on Saturday, carry as much wood as we can, and have a chill night at the hut. In the morning we'll do some easy work around the hut (like scouting for a new outhouse location) and then head down! All are welcome as long as you're willing to carry wood!
If you're still not convinced here are a few more reasons to come:
- You haven't been to Phelix yet
- You need to do a workhike
- You want to see how many loads of wood you can carry (I WILL do at least 4 trips)
- Anton will buy beer or cider for anyone who does 3 or more trips up
- The VOC will cover gas for this work hike provided we work (we will)
