Hello!! My friend Brigida from back home in Italy is visiting me at the end of July, although sadly I’m working during the week (/not really sadly, I love my job) and she’s wanting to explore some of the local mountains. She’s made a trip plan that I will share over here if anyone wants to join her for a nice wander in Garibaldi!!

Hi! I’m a Brigida, a med student from Italy. I’m looking for someone to join me for a 3 days to explore some of Garibaldi park on a backpacking adventure. If you need some convincing, I’ll import some Italian snacks for when your blood sugar drops on the hill!
I have a reservation at Helm Creek Campground for 2 tent pads Wed, Jul 24 until Fri, Jul 26, 2024.
TRIP OVERVIEW (and happy to take any ideas or suggestions):
DAY ONE:
- park the car at Rubble Creek
- Hike to Panorama Ridge, ~2100m (13 km, around 6h)
- Stop at the top to rest and enjoy the view (and eat said Italian snacks)
- Hike to Helm Creek Campground for the night (~7km, ~2h)
DAY TWO:
- Hike to Cheakamus lake (~12km, around 4h30), swim and spend the day hanging out by the lake
- Hike back to Helm Creek Campground for the night
DAY TRHEE:
- Optional: if we have time (and energy and snacks left) we could hike to the base of Black Tusk
- Hike back to Garibaldi lake (~15km, around 6h30), more swim and chill
- head down to Rubble Creek
LOGISTICS:
- I don’t have a car, we get some drivers on the trip that would be amazing … otherwise I can rent one (or someone who lives here can evo)
I hope you will join me! I tried to stick to known routes because I’m not familiar with the place and it will be my first time here. Any suggestions are more welcome, just wanting to explore some of BC in a tent :)
