Description:

We're looking to build a group of 6 to traverse from McGillivray Pass to Tenquille Lake. This route has been done a few times, you can see a previous report from a similar trip here: https://www.ubc-voc.com/2022/11/09/cadwallader-range-traverse. There is trail access at the beginning and end but in between, 48km of alpine to traverse. Total stats: 63km (15k on trails), 4750m up, 5830 down + potential peak-bagging.

Route: https://caltopo.com/m/6Q13AU7

The highlights will be lakes at every camp, ridge-walking, amazing views, high quality wilderness and several peaks to attempt along the way (scrambling) depending on our energy.

Challenges will include: route-finding, minorly exposed scrambling, bushwhacking and bugs (but hopefully there has been a frost by this date, which diminishes the bugs). This is grizzly country so a group of 6 is ideal, 4 is acceptable.

You should have done some backpacking in the past and know you can do 8 hour days for a week, and not be scared by exposure. Footwear is critical, as is a light pack.
If you are interested, and want more details, please email Jane at [email protected], or message me (Adam Brett) on discord.

There will likely be a daytrip planned as a test trip, details still TBD.
