Description:

Come join us for a beginner friendly ski overnight trip! Most likely we will camp elfin lakes. We will not be staying in the hut.

This is a great trip for you if you're new to backcountry skiing. This trip is for you if you have either (pick one):

1) Resort skied a lot- confident on blue/black runs, but never backcountry skied.

2) Backcountry skied a little- had at least one day out on backcountry skis, didn't find it to be a totally miserable experience. Can ski greens in resort, or have skied down from red heather before.

The skiing on this trip is not particularly challenging, but there is about 20k of it total split between two days. It's totally okay if you're or new to backcountry skiing, or even just a moderately decent resort skier, but this isn't the best trip for you if you have never put skis on your feet before.

All participants need to take the online Avalanche Canada Avy Savvy course. It's free and not very long. We won't be entering avalanche terrain on this trip, but we want everyone to have a little bit of knowledge about what that means.

This trip may also involve practicing companion rescue, but it's okay if you haven't taken AST yet (but, if you intend to backcountry ski a lot, you totally should).

Everyone will need to bring a beacon, shovel, probe, and winter camping gear. Email me if you have questions about this.
