Description:
Tenquille Lake is a beautiful alpine lake near Pemberton, which luckily for us has a beautiful hut run by the Pemberton Wildlife Association and Lil’wat First Nations. Its a pretty chill hike in so I thought it would make a great beginner snowshoeing destination. You should have some backpacking experience to join but experience snowshoeing is definitely not necessary.
The hut sleeps 12 and reservations are required, its $25 pernight. There is also the possibility to tent if we have more people for anyone who is comfortable. Those tenting still need to pay the $25 registration fee and book a tent site. Depending on snow depth competent skiers are also welcome however I do not ski and I don't have AST so if you plan to ski you must have backcountry experience and AST training.
The destination is pending snow conditions since the trail into Tenquille crosses an area where there are commonly avalanches, if there is too much snow accumulation I'll consider changing our destination to another hut near Pemberton, or Brew hut.
Information about the hut and the route can be here:

Mapping of potential avalanche terrain around the hut can befound here (zoom in to see tenquille lake area):

The drive in follows the Hurley FSR and AWD or 4WD is recommended.
Snowshoes or skis will be necessary for this trip, these can be rented from the club room.
