Description:

I moved to Chilliwack a few months ago. As I'm typing this, I can see the peaks of Cheam and Slesse blanketed in snow from my office window, and I'm getting restless. I have never ski toured east of Vancouver before, and a guy at a local shop said that the Coq is pretty sweet, so I want to go check it out.

There's apparently lots of different terrain to choose from, so we can choose where exactly we want to ski based on group abilities and avalanche danger. There's some lines that look interesting off the Zopkios ridge, or if the conditions are less than ideal Zoa can provide low-angle terrain. Don't worry, I'll do some more research in the next month.

I'm hoping that all participants are confident intermediate skiers who have toured a reasonable amount, as that's the category I personally identify as.

The Coq is about a 2.5 hour drive from Vancouver, so this will be on the longer side of daytrips for most. On the way back we can stop for food in my glorious new hometown of Chilliwack, if people want.
