Description:

Trip for all those who aren't returning home for the holidays! Never been in this area and would love to explore it.

No guarantee we will get a spot (also considering its christmas) so be prepared to winter camp. Probably will use the hut for cooking but camp in the immediate vicinity. This does require that you have a winter capable sleeping bag. Gear and logistics will be discussed at the pre-trip meeting. Can also email me with questions before then.

Apart from the W of the hut looks like most of the terrain around Darkside Lake is complex terrain, AST-1 required.

Requirements:

• AST 1 or equivalent

• You are able to participate in the decision-making process

• Intermediate skiing ability, can ski blue/black runs in variable conditions

• This is not your first day skiing in the backcountry
