Description:
I'm organizing a day trip to Blinch Peak, an obscure and rarely ascended peak near Stave Lake which offers stunning views of Mount Judge Howay and Mount Robie Reid. More information about the peak can be found here:

We would have to bike several kilometres along a FSR (if someone has a Tacoma or something similar, this could be much shorter). We would bushwhack up a steep slope to a ridge, then traverse along the ridge, navigating some microterrain. The whole thing would be at least 14km, probably more depending on how far we can drive up the FSR. Seems like some solid type 2 fun with a good view as a reward.
We could also visit Flinch Peak, which would add a couple more kilometres. This is much steeper than the main Blinch route. I'd only do it if we had a solid avalanche forecast and a very experienced group.
Logistics:
This trip is dependent on a good avalanche and weather forecast and there's a pretty good chance that we'll have to reschedule it. If that happens, I'll probably do another trip on the 26th to somewhere easier.
My car can fit 3 bikes + 3 people. Someone else could bring their car to bring more people. I would like to keep this trip to 2 cars for logistical reasons.
Packing List:
* Avalanche gear (beacon, shovel, probe)
* Bicycle (I have two extras, but one is in severe need of a tune-up and the other is very small, so you will want to bring your own)
* Crampons
* Snowshoes (depending on conditions)
* Ice axe (depending on conditions)
* Poles
* The usual winter hiking clothes and gear (headlamps, food, water, extra clothes, etc.)
Requirements:
• AST 1 or equivalent
* Extensive hiking experience (This is not a beginner trip!)
* Extensive experience in off-trail navigation, bushwhacking, and scrambling, preferably in coastal BC
