Description:
Looking for a party of 4-6 to attempt the North Joffre Horseshoe Traverse with (Distance 25km, Elevation 2040m) over 3 days. In Baldwin’s words - This is a highly recommended route with good side trips and excellent skiing. Here is a trip report: https://www.ubc-voc.com/2022/04/20/north-joffre-creek-horseshoe
Dates are tentative, pending weather/avalanche conditions. If conditions aren’t right we could try again for April (Good Friday weekend).
Requirements: AST1 or equivalent, glacier travel / crevasse rescue experience, ideally some winter camping experience
I've done G1, the Neve Traverse. Am doing a crevasse rescue course beginning of Feb as a little bit of a refresher. Wouldn’t mind arranging some crevasse rescue practise before as well. Not much else besides, so am looking for equal partners and not necessarily to instruct.
Haven’t decided on the pre-trip meeting time but will send out an email closer to the date.
I would like to hard cap this trip at 6 to minimise group faff. The going list won’t be determined by signup order but by experience, whether you can drive, and also any contributions to the club.
