Description:

Hey all! Clubs week is happening next week, and this year, the AMS has decided that every club gets one day to booth. This means that we will need to bring as much energy as possible during our allocated time slot to get as many people interested as possible!

Club days are a good way to get new students interested in the VOC - on club days, all clubs set up booths and people get to advertise their club and chat with interested new members. It's great!

If you're new to the club and interested in knowing more about how the club works - come by and say hi!

We're looking for a few people to be at the booth so that we always have at least a couple people there answering questions, spreading stoke, and getting new members signed up! Ideally we'd also have a member of exec in the club room who can take payments and activate memberships, as well as show people around the clubroom and gear rentals.

You don't have to be at the club booth the whole day, or everyday, even an hour between your classes helps and is much appreciated! If you are interested in helping and joining for a shift, you can sign up on the Google Sheets listed on this posting or also just show up! It'll be super fun, and you'll get a workhike out of it (a way of giving back to the VOC, helps us keep up services like free gear rentals). It's also a great way to meet prospective members as well as other current members.

We've been allocated a booth on the 22nd of January - boothing starts at 11:00 AM and finishes at 4:00 PM everyday. We'll need a few people to help with setup starting at 10:00 AM, which will involve bringing out gear from the club room. This time, we will be boothing on the main floor of the Nest, just in front of Honour Roll.

Requirements:

- General knowledge of the club, main trips, huts, where to find info (website+wiki)
- Knowledge of the signup process (https://www.ubc-voc.com/how-to-join)
- A charged laptop to show said website+wiki, and to help people with the signup process
- Being welcoming and inclusive! Don't assume experience, ask
- Be able to direct people to the clubroom

Hope to see you there!
