It's time for the annual VOC Photo Contest! We've made a couple structural changes this year to improve accessibility; be sure to take a look at the guidlines below.
Submission Guidelines:
As with last year, there are categories for Landscape, Portrait, Action Shot, Flora and Fauna, and Club Activities.
We are also introducing a sixth "Beyond the Tripod" category, strictly for photos taken with more exotic creative hardware such as drones and star-tracking mounts. To promote cost-accessibility in the rest of the contest, submissions which fit this criteria are not eligible for other categories. Other than the given examples, we leave the exact definition of "exotic" up to your discretion; we ask you to consider the intent behind this rule.
You are allowed to upload two submissions per category across three of these categories, for a maximum of six photos per person.
Do not submit the same photo to different categories. The deadline for submitting your photos is 11:59PM on February 5th. If you took a particular photo with a smartphone, please indicate it as such; these will also be considered for a separate overall prize. If possible, avoid uploading in proprietary file formats such as HEIC.
The voting will be done on a separate form available on the Trip Agenda shortly after this form closes. The winner and runner up for each category will be featured in this year's VOC Journal, and a prize will be awarded to the winner of each category. The best overall photo will also receive a prize, as will the best overall photo taken with a smartphone (if such a distinction is necessary after voting).
