First day from the Cerise Creek parking lot should be about 13k / 900m ish to reach Snowspider Hut. The hut can only fit 4 (6 by VOC standards) so max is probably 1 car (4 peeps) for this trip. I might bring a tent anyway just in case the hut is full. Next day summit Snowspider early and ski out. Skis can be worn almost to the summit, ski crampons may be useful if you have them. Strenuous 2 day trip, I don’t expect you to be fast (am not super fast myself) but be able to maintain a moderate pace for a decent length of time.
Fallback plan in case of unfavorable conditions would be a day trip to the Duffey - probably Tszil or Chief Pascall.
If someone has a car and is willing to drive that would be great, otherwise I can get an Evo for 4 persons. No pre-trip meeting. Wednesday morning I will send out an email to all those on the interested list with a whatsapp group invite link. We can discuss logistics there.
Requirements:
- AST 1 or equivalent
- You are able to participate in the decision-making process
- Intermediate/advanced skiing ability, can ski black diamond runs in variable conditions
- This is not your first day skiing in the backcountry
