Description:

Before the end of the month, I'd like to make a pilgramage to the head of Farnham Creek, which holds some of the highest peaks in the Purcell Mountains, to partake in some excellent spring ski mountaineering made easy by high-elevation industrial roads.

The inspiration, and details relevant for this trip, can be found in these two trip reports:

https://mattruta.com/2017/06/16/jumbo-2-0-unfinished-business/

I'd like to definitely ski the NW face of Mount Jumbo, probably the N face of the Cleaver, and maybe the NE face of Commander Mountain if it is condition. Depending on weather and preference, I am open to attempting these objectives in either a single-day push from sleeping at the TH, or from a camp on the glacier for 1 or 2 nights. The dates are also flexible depending on weather and preference, I'm free from roughly the 23rd-29th.

This trip is in Southeastern BC, so is obviously aimed at VOCers who may be spending time in the region (or nearby Alberta) for the summer, but if anyone is keen enough to drive from Vancouver feel free! I'm based in Revelstoke. I'm looking to get a small group of 2-4 experienced backcountry skiers with competency on glaciers and 45 degree snow together.
