Description:

Winter is around the corner.  Now is a great time to brush on first aid skills.... just in case you need them this winter!

We can start with the basics and common injuries, and move on from there:

  • Scene Assessment and the basics (ABCDs)
  • Slinging  - Dislocated shoulder/Separated AC
  • Splinting Fractures
  • etc... whatever ppl want to practise

To be realistic, please bring whatever first aid gear you actually carry in your day bag.  I will bring a couple extra pieces of sling and splint material.

If you havent taken a first aid course thats totally okay.

My background:  Ive been handing out band aids for the last few years with Revelstoke ski patrol, BC Ambulance and Search and Rescue.  I havent had the chance to meet many of you yet, but I would be stoked to share what I've learned and mistakes Ive made over the last few years.

A reminder of what winter looks like....
