Introduction

Ice cragging at the toe of Coleman Glacier on Mt Baker is a popular day trip with easy approach via Heliotrope Ridge trail. A day of 5-6 hours of serac ice climbing is easily accessed just 2 hours of hiking from parking lot at 1120 meters.

The trip is intended for whom have had some experience on ice climbing.


Some of the details have been discussed in email thread, this page is for organizing aid. However edit your current status to keep everyone updated.

Itinerary

0600 - Leave Vancouver
0800 - Heliotrope Trail Parking Regroup.
1000 - Arrive at the crag.
1600 - End of climbing.
1800 - Leave Heliotrope Parking.
2000 - Arrive Vancouver*.

Driving Direction

Requirement

  • Valid document to travel to US and return to Canada
  • Insurance
  • Ice Climbing gear. No helmet no climb.
