Footwear maintenance
People often ask where they can get their climbing shoes/hiking boots/telemark boots/etc. repaired or resoled. Two places that seem to have a good reputation are:
- Gold Star Shoe Rebuilders near Dunbar and 16th
- Quick Cobbler near Cambie and 2nd
- Rino's Shoes will do work on plastic telemark boots. Located just across broadway from MEC.
These places will fix all kinds of problems, usually for a quite reasonable rate.
If you like fixing your own gear, then probably the number one useful substance is Freesole, an amazing glue that makes quite permanent repairs. Freesole is available at MEC, and they also sell climbing shoe resoling kits there.
