Template talk:Gear list:essentials
I added "something warm" and "first aid kit" to the list. For reference, I believe the "standard" 10 essentials list is:
- Map
- Compass
- Sunglasses and Sunscreen
- Extra food
- Extra clothes
- Headlamp
- First aid supplies
- Fire starter
- Matches
- Knife
There may be some value in having our list line up. I guess (after my additions) we are missing fire starter and matches. I think that "EXTRA food" is by no means essential, but that food itself is. Also, water, water is more important than food. I have never carried a fire starter, but maybe we should some sort of "fire" component to the list.
