Description:

Come join a handful of other deranged runners as we cover every trail in Pacific Spirit Park in a single push.

I'm posting this trip well in advance so that participants have plenty of time to train. Running ultramarathons off-the-couch is a quick way to injure yourself. I plan to hold some social long-runs in the lead up the trip as well.

If you've never run an ultramarathon before, this makes for a great first ultra; if you're not feeling it part-way through the run, there are plenty of opportunities to bail. Last year, it was every participant's longest-ever run, and the atmosphere was relaxed and supportive. Nothing brings people together quite like shared suffering.

THE ROUTE:

Last year, the route covered all of PSP in 67km (874m of elevation gain) but neglected Wreck Beach. Thanks to some work done by Sean McKay, we have a new highly-optimized route that covers Wreck Beach too with a total distance of 67.3km and 1868m of elevation gain

OTHER DETAILS:

The current event date is just a placeholder; if the date doesn't work for you, but you're keen on running this, sign up as interested anyways. We can sort out a time that works for more people once we have some signups.

No registration fee, but also no aid stations or official support. This is a race in name only. There are also no route markers, so either come prepared with the course GPX downloaded or go retro with a paper map.

Prizes include bragging rights and feeling good about yourself. I'll also write a trip report immortalizing your accomplishments (or DNF).

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the event!
