Description:

I've been meaning to get out to the Eldred Valley for a while now after hearing and reading amazing stories about it (like this inspiring and hilarious one... https://www.ubc-voc.com/2022/08/15/god-has-you-on-toprope-gumbies-in-the-eldred). It's about 6 hours total travel from Vancouver including 2 ferries so a bit of an undertaking to get out to, but from what I've heard it's totally worth it. Ideally we'd get one or two mostly full cars to split ferry/gas costs as efficiently as possible.

Plan is to leave Friday and get back Monday night. This would be a mostly self-sufficient trip where people would have to find partners before, and probably even have a general idea of what you'd like to climb. I am looking for a partner so if you're keen to check out things like Schizophrenia (5.10b) near camp, and some of the other classics / walls then please get in touch!

From what I've read this is an area where it's better to kinda know what you're doing since the climbing is mostly either trad climbing or runout slabs. It sounds like bringing double ropes or a tag line and a wrench to tighten bolts is a good idea too.

Note that this trip is weather dependant so we could re-route to somewhere like Skaha or Smith Rock if required. Pre-trip is Monday night so we will check weather and also go over partners and ferry logistics and that kind of stuff then.
